Grain Surfboard Construction Part 17

The varnishings...

So, one of the later parts of the project is to apply several layers of marine varnish to the board to give it a deep glossy appearance and also to protect the epoxy...

Anyway, I finished the final varnish coat tonight and it looks great!

The next part is to take progressively finer sand paper starting at about 1000 grit and ending at rubbing compound to get all the rough spots out. Then it should REALLY beam...

After that, I need to install the vent plug and the leash (plug or through the board - not sure)...

So very close to finished... However, this board will end up being the newest board in the lot. I will not have a chance to finish it before I go to pick up the Bonzer...
